So I went through my bf’s IG b/c he’s constantly on there, first thing he does when he wakes up & last thing he does before he goes to sleep. So I wanted to see wtf was grabbing his attention. Long story short I see his DMs is FULLLL of girls. I check most of the messages and it’s mostly him responding to their IG stories and having small convos. I asked him to stop doing this b/c honestly why does someone in a relationship feel the need to comment on multiple women’s IG stories. He claims it’s nothing and “I just respond if I think the post is funny that’s it”. But I feel like what the point in that though ? U can’t just find it funny & NOT comment? Anyways we had a big argument about it and he states “it’s my Instagram I can do what I want”. This is honestly making me feel like he just likes the attention and he likes speaking & writing these random girls. I even seen one girl he sent a selfie to asking “which do you like better? My beard short or long” like are you fucking serious ? He said he’s not cheating and he would never cross that line and that I need to just drop it. But it’s like if you literally feel like “it’s my phone ima do what I want” then why tf are you in a relationship if youre not going to stop doing something that makes me sad. 
Should I just drop it and move on? Aside from the one message w/ him sending the selfie , all the other messages were regular . No flirting

Eh, I think it’s probably true that he likes the attention but if it isn’t flirting I wouldn’t make a scene about it. I would just ask him why he’s doing it and express that it does worry me a little as to why he feels the need to do it. 
I just wanted to add though, he doesn’t have to stop doing everything that you don’t like. You asked why be in a relationship if he thinks it’s his phone. A relationship should be a partnership of two people. But those two people are also individuals who will have some different beliefs, boundaries, and ideas. It is okay to disagree sometimes and it doesn’t necessarily mean either of you have to stop. But the other person doesn’t have to stay if it crosses a boundary for them.

It doesn’t matter if he’s not flirting now but from the sounds of it he seems the type to cross that line. Especially since you brought it up and he dismissed your feelings.
