The longer you wait, the harder it is.👊🏼
Every time I get into a “funk” - like the 3 week one I just had - I remind myself of these things:
1. I am a human processing emotions and it’s ok to take breaks from routine.
2. The longer I stay out of routine the harder - mentally & physically - it is to get back into routine.
3. My why: stabilizing my mental health, setting a good example, keeping my body (¤t home of my baby boy) running at its best.
.
So today, I woke up (with some accountability assistance from @karainglis) & put my maternity @fabletics gear on. Ate my breakfast and drank part of my coffee while procrastinating & watching an episode of This Is Us... And an hour later than planned I got set up for my workout outside in the fresh air.🌱
.
It. Was. Rough. My entire body felt tight and stiff. I was sweating by the end of warm up. I took breaks and used less weight. Then took a victory 10 minute stretch thinking that damn it in the past hour I not only worked on growing a baby but some glutes too 💪🏼
.
Right now there are a ton of trainers posting free workouts to help keep you active. Which is awesome bc right now it is more important than ever to keep your body’s lymphatic system flowing so it can ward off infection and drain toxins. I LOVE seeing all the people getting their training in virtually.👏🏽
.
However, for most, it takes more than saving a free workout to get us moving. It takes learning you’re not alone in putting off getting started. A reminder that you can start with body weight only and take breaks as needed. Remembering this is more important than just being able to fit into your pants by the time this is over.❤️
.
If you were waiting for a sign to start, here it is👋🏼 Let’s get back to it y’all.
