Do you expect more from your SO when he/she comes home from work?

sometimes after a rough day I expect my husband to come home & take over 100% but the reality is he just came home from work & wants to relax too!

It's not that I want him to come home and take over all the child care, I just don't want him to come home and think "well I'm off work, now I can relax" while I still continue to do everything myself that I've been doing all day. I tell him that once he clocked out he was no longer working, but I'm on the clock 24 hours and 7 days a week. So expecting me to continue to do everything just because he works isn't how things work in my household. He doesn't have to do as much as I do, but he still has to help.

I expect my husband to co-parent. There are some things that only I can do (breastfeed and put my LO to bed) but he does everything else. He changes diapers, does baths, jammy time, ect. He has even started cooking. We both had a conversation about me staying at home is the exact same as if I landed a dream job and we are both coming home at the end of the day.

I don't expect 100% but I do expect him to help. They're his kids too and he has a responsibility to meet their needs as well.

Truth be told I really just want a smoke break when my hubby gets home. I mean by the time he gets home its late and we are tired but the baby is awake so I just need a moment to refresh myself so I can get back in it. He does leave me sleeping on his days off and helps with the other kids, so I will take that. I cant have him doing much else because of how anal I am.

I hardly ever expect my hubby to take over 100% when he is home but indefinitely expect him to participate and engage. I'm not one of those SAHMs that preach about it being the hardest job etc etc. It is hard and I definitely don't sit on my ass all day, but I don't consider it a "job" I am raising my son, not collecting a pay check. So yes, when he comes home he is expected to help raise his son.

I don't have to ask is expect anything from my husband he just does it. He comes in and takes her and then we take turns showering and then we just pass her back and forth...it hasn't really been an issue yet.

No, I don't because I know his work is exhausting! But also if I want to take a relaxing bath or take a couple minutes alone I expect him to let me haha OR ELSE😏

My partner instantly has a smoke then gets our boy I take half an hour off with just me time then I organize his tea at the moment he feeds him ms isn't allowing me to handle it very well then I watch him while my partner eats IL also try to eat but don't mind stopping then we do bath time after the bath I have a shower partner gives dante bottle and by time I'm out he's either in bed or ready to go to bed I ask quite a bit of my partner considering he's just done 8am till 5pm but I turn into a monster if I don't get that Lil me time lol

He does great with our son when he gets home, super helpful, I just have a hard time when I make a big dinner and have to clean up after, sometimes I just want him to help me wash dishes, but I really can't complain, he is a really great daddy!

We have an agreement that he gets an hour or two to relax then he is supposed to help with our son it's hard to enforce it while we live with his parents though
