Obviously since you know me, you know somebody who struggled with infertility. However, I’m not your only infertile friend. Although most people don’t share their private life of trying to conceive, infertility impacts 1 in 8 couples. It comes in many forms, male factor, female factor, and unexplained infertility. I guarantee, if you know me through social connections, past jobs, different schools and college, someone else you know has also battled with infertility. Depending on your age, infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after 6 months - 1 year of trying to start a family. Out of 40 couples that you know, on average, 5 of them needed to seek reproductive help. That doesn’t mean they all went through <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>, many people don’t have to go to that extreme or don’t pursue treatment due to cost. But you probably know people who have been on some kind of fertility medicine, Dr supervised cycles, or used <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a>’s. Some had success and now live happy lives laughing at the silly things their children do, but others remain childless, and not by choice. Regardless of the amount of infertility warriors you know, please take the time during National Infertility Awareness Week to listen with compassion as others share their stories. Their stories represent and give insight to the silent struggles that many people endure behind closed doors. To the silent warriors, I know the strength you have shown without taking any credit for how strong you had to be.
