Love shows in many ways. I’m sure many of you are familiar with the 5 love languages. Gift giving, physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, and acts of service. In many ways, <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> is an act of service to our unborn babes without any guarantee we’ll ever feel the love back. It’s hard when you are in the thick of it, giving and sacrificing and getting very little back. It gets better. Pregnancy has started to fulfill my physical touch and quality time needs that helps dull the memory of the struggle. I’m cherishing the kicks and wiggles. The first time I felt her foot I think we both surprised each other. It felt like I had a stitch in my side and unconsciously went to rub it, but there was a tiny hard lump that quickly moved away at my touch. Now, she interacts with me a little. Petting my left side will usually generate some gentle kicks and stretches on the right. Now I understand how moms get a sense of their kid’s personality while in the womb, and I’m soaking up the time it’s just me and her. It’s also giving my husband and I unique quality time moments. Watching him talk to my bump and get excited at her movements melts my heart and makes me excited to see him with her. I love these pics from our “homemade” maternity photo shoot because they capture the softer side and the love and light of this experience. It is also way out of Mark’s wheel house because he usually does landscapes and is always zooming in to make sure the background is crisp and clear. It was a total surprise for me as he played with exposure levels and suddenly said, “I think you’re gonna like this - it’s kinda ethereal”.
