Leap 5?
My baby will be 24 weeks tomorrow, so she's 5.5 months. We recently successfully transitioned to her crib and she was doing really well coming off the 4 month sleep regression. She was sleeping anywhere from 5-8 hours straight for the first stretch of sleep and then 2-4 hours for the second. The past couple nights she's been waking every 2.5-3 hours eating like she's starving. I know babies this age will still wake for feedings, so that's not an issue. During the day she's super clingy and fussy. If I put her down and leave the room she'll cry sometimes, which is not normal for her. She's a pretty easy going baby. Naps have been the WORST. She had finally been taking solid 1.5 hour naps once or twice a day and almost all naps were 50 minutes or longer. She also went to sleep fairly easy. I still rock her to sleep and offer the breast, which she'll suck for a little while and then want her pacifier. The past few days she screams at nap time and goes between comfort nursing and her pacifier. So she'll nurse, cry, want pacifier, cry, nurse, cry, want pacifier, cry, and rinse and repeat for 20 minutes. She'll scream and arch her back and even hold her breath sometimes. And her naps are 20-30 minutes. I'll try to put her back down and she'll either wake up as soon as I leave the room or nap for 10-15 more minutes before crying. Usually when she wakes up from naps she'll either put herself back to sleep on occasion or roll around the crib and play until she starts fussing or I go get her. I don't have the wonder weeks app or anything, but have read up on the leaps. I know there's a leap somewhere around 26 weeks. Is this it or is this just a growth spurt or upset tummy? She does have some teeth coming in, but she doesn't mess with her mouth much and they've looked the same for a month, just under the gum but not red or swollen gums. We have a fairly consistent daily routine, but I don't follow a rigid schedule. I just go with her natural wake windows and I feed on demand. We have plenty of play time so she'll be ready for nap time as well. And we have a consistent naptime and bedtime routine.
Just wondering what is going on with my little happy girl. This is not like her at all!
Pics just because she's adorable!
