Why is snooping Vilified?

I’ve seen posts where girls feel bad for snooping even after they did find their SO wasn’t being faithful or Inappropriate in  whatever way. I was in a situation where I didn’t feel my so was being honest but I also felt maybe I’m going crazy just needed proof. I did snoop and found out he was still contacting someone he had a thing for. We have worked through this and are in a much better space. But I always wonder because even back then I felt bad for invading his privacy. But now I don’t feel bad at all because I think I never would have known that if I didn’t snoop and I would actually feel that I’m just crazy insecure when my gut was telling me something is off.

I think it’s wrong to look in someone’s phone when you don’t have permission. I don’t care if you find something or not. It’s not something I’d be okay with in a relationship.

I would never feel bad for snooping if what I found confirmed my suspicions and i found out my partner was cheating because of it

I can’t agree with snooping. It’s definitely an invasion of privacy and sometimes a sign of insecurity. If I don’t trust my partner I will leave them.

If you don’t trust your partner, what’s the point in being with them? You’re either going to find nothing and realize you’re incredibly insecure which should lead to breaking up and getting some therapy or they are cheating which leads to breaking up so might as well just break up and move on

I always think about the wives of some serial killers or wives that snoop and find child pornography or stuff like that ....
Some of those wives never thought their husband was a killer .. or would harm a child ... and I always think like damn how many people could have been saved or how many guys would have been put away sooner if those women would have snooped when they thought something was off . 
The one story my friend told me about after watching one of those shows on tv .. was that her husband had killed multiple woman and had stuff that tired him to the murders in his phone or computer ( can’t remember which exactly ) and his wife had a feeling a couple times that something wasn’t right but she didn’t feel okay snooping . And she never did . It wasn’t until he was caught that she new a damn thing . 
Like what if she snooped and found out and saved some lives . 
I know it’s not exactly the same but still.

Why is it vilified? Because it's invasive and rude and people deserve privacy. Does it sometimes validate the suspicious party's suspicions? Yes but it's still an invasion of privacy.

Because it’s about respect and privacy. If you’ve found something in the past and chose to stay with your partner, you’re choosing that. They don’t give up their right to privacy. I’m someone who used to snoop and regret it. Life is much easier and happier with communication

If you get to the point where you have to snoop then you just shouldn’t be together. Especially if you ended up staying because then its like what was the point of all that trouble just to stay? It’s just pointless. Of i snooped and saw he was cheating I would be glad in a way because I found out and had the chance to leave. But to stay? No then that’s just stupidity

It's a violation of your partners privacy and it shows you dont trust them. How would you like it if he had a suspicion so he looked through your phone? In my relationship we dont look through each others phones but we trust each other and dont cheat.
