After pregnancy ultrasound??

I’m a ftm, I am worried that things have not gone back to normal with my uterus after having my daughter. Is it fair for me to ask my doctor for an ultrasound to make sure everything is okay? I brought it up to my doctor(not an obgyn just a regular doctor) and he said it’s not necessary. Has anyone gotten an ultrasound just to make sure everything has gone back to normal after giving birth?

Nope, normally you don’t need to. I have never heard of women needing to. Everything usually goes back to normal unless you’re experiencing pain, bleeding, or anything abnormal. Why do you think you need one??

Why do you think you need one? Probably not necessary. 
My only ultrasound after birth was when I was hemorrhaging and they wanted to know the cause (retained placenta). They did not do a follow up one even after a known condition to make sure it was normal after a D&C.
