Induction question

So I am due May 31st. I had a disc herniation on my lower back last yr and had minimally invasive surgery for it. The bigger I get the more its been hurting me it is so painful and uncomfortable. I want to let my baby grow until 40 weeks to see if he comes on his own and a few days after that but my back is killing me do you think my Dr would allow to induce me at 40 weeks and a few days like 3 or 4 days after I’m 40 weeks? Instead of waiting until 41....
