How long does sperm really last?

I read in reality it's only a few hours but most people have said 5 days. I'm having some sharp pains on my left side and back aches I think I might be ovulating but I last had sex like 15 hours ago.. Could I still conceive if I was ovulating now?

I would say depend on the quality of sperm. Average is 3 days. If the sperm dries it's dead. It takes days for the sperm to travel up the vagina, cervix, uterus and finally to the Fallopian tubes. Sperm are pretty determined so I'd say yes you could still get pregnant. You want to have sex before you ovulate to make sure the sperm is there waiting for the egg. The egg disintegrates fairly quickly after ovulation, so to have sperm readily waiting is ideal.
