Second trimester loss reasons
Hi ladies, hoping for some insight here.
We lost our baby last month at 19 weeks. It was the worst day of my life, without a doubt. They said the baby had likely passed sometime between 14-16 weeks and I had a mmc.
A month later and were trying again. I am really doing everything I can to give us the best chances for a successful pregnancy. Have read “it starts with the egg”, changed my diet, take mouthfuls of vitamins etc. However, I’ve been reading a bit on the internet that second trimester loss usually has to do more with something wrong with the mother. That often time’s its an infection, diabetes, or other physical factors with the mother that cause second trimester loss to occur. When we lost the baby, they said there was no major cause for it, and just “a sad event” that couldn’t have been prevented.
Has anyone gone through a second tri loss? Did you ever find out the reason it happened?
I want to have as much control in the situation as humanly possible, and give our next baby the best chances to survive as I can.
