Didn’t breastfeed my first, but planning on breastfeeding with this baby #2!

Depends how often you plan to pump. I've been home with my son on maternity leave for 11 months now and never felt a huge need to give him bottles so the manual pump was enough for me. I also never had problems with leaking (literally never leaked), oversupply, clogged ducts, or mastitis because my body only produced what my baby needed. I know not everyone has the luxury of an extended mat leave but if you'll be home anyway, I'd recommend just nursing baby most of the time.

I think it depends. For me, I exclusively breastfeed since I’m just at home. I only pump when I feel really full and when my boob hurts(which is early morning around 3 cause I always find myself leaking, morning and night) A haakaa just to catch my letdown. Those extra breastmilk are my emergency stash. Didn’t really need to pump 6-8 times a day cause I don’t bottlefeed. My baby hates bottles. But I do suggest giving baby bottle once or twice so he won’t get confused.

My hospital gave me both. I use both daily. 
I also like my Haaka. Unfortunately my son likes to kick while nursing and often  removes the suction.

electric is the best for regular use, but i find it handy to keep a manual breast pump on you just in case for emergencies.
