Any of yous ladies ever had a Hysterosalpingogram??

Question

I have to have an xray on my fallopian tubes using the dye when j get my next period. Wondering if anyone has had one of these tests done and could share their story? Thanks x

omg I had this yesterday and I can't remember anything worse. firstly the cathatar entering felt awkward hard and dry and my vagina muscles weren't relaxed but I just took it as a smear test. however when the blue ink started going in it felt like the worst menstrual cramping I have ever felt, on pause! I stayed brave and quiet, the guy was reassuring and at one point I said are u nearly done? as I couldn't take the pain anymore and could have passed out. the ink went in easily and wrapped round my healthy tubes and ovaries and it was all over in a few minutes thankfully. I just didn't anticipate pain afterwards, as the day went on it felt like someone had kicked me in the stomach. I took 2 painkillers before the procedure and 2 after it, but my night I was in tears. It hurt to cough, it hurt to walk, it hurt to go to the toilet, I felt like I'd had surgery in my womb, and I've had misscariages Ladin and all sorts, usually quite the trooper! I used a hot water bottle all day and all night which helped loads, and rested the whole day. I have just woken up and it doesn't feel as bad as last night so relieved. I didn't think I needed the hsg as I've been pregnant 3 times but in glad I can tick the test of the lost, I have good clear tubes and we know that iui could be a possibility if clomid doesn't work. it's worth doing, im glad I did, but just take the day off when u do.

I had one. It wasn't really comfortable, but it wasn't even as bad as my normal period cramps.

Yep had one  a few months ago. It's a little uncomfortable and you may experience cramps but these were no worse than period cramps in my case. The procedure doesn't take long providing you cervix plays ball and moves out the way for the catheter. Hope all goes well

I had mild cramping after the procedure and my tubes were clear but I got pregnant the next cycle after having 7 failed cycles

I've had it done can be s little painful and uncomfortable but only for short period of time. You'll be fine don't worry
