I see some new faces here👋 so I wanted to share a little bit about my PASSION for helping mamas find strength, confidence, joy, fulfillment and BALANCE.🙌 . About 10 years ago, I got my degree in Dietetics, started my coaching business, became a nationally-qualified bikini competitor and a contributing editor/recipe creator for @bodybuildingcom. I was in great shape, but my relationship with food was not so great - either I was “on diet” or “cheating” (bingeing) on the weekends.🍕🍰 . Then I had my first, Eden. It was a healthy pregnancy until the end - she was 2 weeks late and I labored through severe preeclampsia (HELLP syndrome) for 36 hours (no pain meds) ending in emergency c-section. . Afterwards, I didn’t even recognize my own body.🙈 I tried to beat myself into shape with an aggressive calorie deficit and long hours at the gym. This backfired and I started bingeing hard, some days up to 5,000kcal, then starving myself the next day.🙄 . This went on for about a year until I decided to #reversediet and change my mindset. I stopping eating to “lose weight” but rather to FEEL GOOD and nourish my body. I stopped hating myself for being “fat and undisciplined” and started nurturing myself into the strong, capable woman I knew I was. I created BALANCE. . Around 1 year and a half later, I got pregnant again with our second, Avalon. With her, I was able to lift 75% my usual weight all the way to third trimester. It was this pregnancy that I learned the importance of intra-abdominal pressure, deep core activation, and abdominal/postural rehabilitation postpartum. I opted for another c-section bc my doc said a successful VBAC was unlikely. After my second baby I was forced to master #timemanagement and #prioritization to run my business (and life) with two kids under 3.🙃 . About 18 months later, I got pregnant with our third, Estelle. This time I learned that it’s possible to get into shape AT HOME with just a set of bands! I didn’t need to “diet,” I just made nutritionally balanced meals and optimized my hormones. This simple method is what I hope to share with other mamas!🤗 . Because we have more important things to worry about: like our loves 💕😉
