How does pre-birth disability leave work in CA? 🤔

Anyone has experience with the 4 weeks disability leave before birth? What’s the process? The implications?

Answer

You will Apply on Edd website under disability. 
You can’t do it u til the startbdate of ur dr order(mine starts June 2 so that’s when I can go online and file) then they might ask for you to upload or send in info from ur dr. 
Ur disability actually is up to 6-8 weeks after delivery also. 6 weeks for vagina and 8 weeks of its c section. So if your dr took you off work at 37 weeks and u give birth on ur due date u actually have 10 weeks on disability total.

Your obgyn fills out the form or does it online for u and u should get a code once it’s done and u can follow up online with the status of your payments
