Excuse me if this seems like a dumb question. However, I am a FTM and I tend to ask a lot of questions whenever I can. I went to my doctor today for a checkup (37 weeks + 4 days) and she checked my cervix for dilation and told me I was 3cm dilated and 60% and yes I know this doesn’t mean I’ll go into labor anytime soon but I am wondering that when I do go into labor, will I only have to go from 3cm to 10cm? I thought dilation of the cervix was supposed to be painful because that’s what the contractions are doing but when my doctor told me I was 3cm dilated, I was shocked because I haven’t had any discomfort.
