Everyone should buy this book!
Or at least something like it!
My dad passed away about a month and a half ago. He didn’t have a will, and didn’t have many assets (lived in an apartment, only really had his artwork, a truck, and music equipment). Because he didn’t have very many assets, he never bothered with a will, and boy I wish he had.
He was a fabulous musician. He had a guitar that he bought thirty years ago and rebuilt himself. He always told me and my mom that he wanted me to have it when he died. In the midst of everyone looking through his instruments and equipment, my nephew found the guitar and wanted it. My sister didn’t know that he left it for me, and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings so I let him have it. It was heartbreaking to give it to him, but I couldn’t picture doing something that I knew would hurt my nephew or my sister.
My mom has struggled figuring out all the paperwork. She didn’t know passwords to their bank account, where his military papers were, etc. It made a difficult time even harder.
I found this book at Books A Million and grabbed one for me and my husband. You can put where your legal will is, who your emergency contact is, where your life insurance info is, bank account info, lawyer info, driver’s license info, where your social security card is located, along with sooo much more that would have been beneficial to know when my dad passed.
I’m only 23, but I’ve already began to fill mine out. I’d rather be prepared than not. I’ll probably have to buy another book like this as I get older and continually update it, but it’s worth it if it would make my death easier on my children and my husband!
Just a thought!
