I'm so so so terrified...
I'm 29+4. So I was having some cramping last night that only seemed to get worse and moved to my back. I called the on-call doctor and she told me I could come in to triage or wait for a few hours and if hasn't went away come in then. So I waited, and it only worsened and I was in terrible pain.
When I got there, they hooked me up and told me I was having contractions. They gave me medicine to stop the contractions and checked my cervix. I was dialated 1. They waited a couple hours, monitored my contractions, and checked my cervix again. I was now thinning. They told me they were going to give my steroids to develop the babies lungs in case she has to come early. And I pretty much lost it at this point.
Then, they told me they were admitting me to monitor the contractions. Fortunately, I was able to see a high risk doctor hours after being admitted and he sent me home to come back in the morning to get my second steroid shot for baby. He said I still have previa and a short cervix. He said there's really no way to avoid having contractions at this point. But to stay well hydrated and take it easy. I am TERRIFIED. I am so afraid I'm going to feel more contractions. I am so afraid that something I have done is causing this. I'm SO afraid she will come early!
Has anyone ever experienced this and went to have a normal term pregnancy??
Edit - forgot to add: they did perform a fetal fibronectin test and it came back negative!
