Sleep training and crib freedom??

Question

Hi all - for those of you who have moved your LO into their own room - when did you do it and why? And did you sleep train or are you sleep training? Our LO is almost 14 weeks and we just transitioned him out of the swaddle but it also appears his sleep regression is starting - we are wondering if we should combine them and do it all at once. We haven't moved our daughter out of our room because she'll be sharing with her big brother and we want her sleeping through the night first. With our son, we moved him out around this age because we were waking him up when we were coming to bed, and we all slept much better after! I wish we could move our daughter! But anyway, we have been working on independent sleep for about a month now. After a short routine for nap and bedtime, I lay my daughter down calm but awake and she puts herself to sleep with her pacifier. She sometimes fusses and will every once in a while cry for a min or two, but otherwise does great -- honestly, you don't know what your baby is capable of until you let him show you, you may be pleasantly surprised! I know I was the first time I put my daughter down awake for a nap... I did it because I started working from home last month and got really frustrated with rocking my daughter to sleep over and over all day just for her to pop awake. I couldn't believe she put herself to sleep! Sorry for rambling but the point of the story is to start now and "sleep training" doesn't mean "CIO" in all cases -- that should be a last resort. If you start now, you'll be better off in the long run. The 4 month regression is a permanent change to babies' sleep so no better time than now! (PS: I'm not against CIO and used this method with my son because I didnt know better and rocked/fed him to sleep until the regression hit and I was up every 2 hrs for 1.5 months straight while working full-time, I almost lost my mind. 🥴)

I just moved my daughter into her own room and her crib last night because we tried naps in the crib yesterday and she rocked it! Plus, she’s growing and needing more room than her bassinet was offering. My original plan was to move her into her crib when she was about 5 months. She is 3 and a half months old currently. I’m so proud of her (and myself! 😬).

We bedshare for the most part. But started putting him in his crib I'm his room at 3 months. 
Sleep training isn't my thing. But we are using taking cara babies 3-4 month course to help start good sleep habits. We were having a hard time getting him down in the crib and we saw a pretty instant difference. When he wakes we use her method to get him back to sleep. (Then the 2nd time he wakes we bring him to bed with us) 
She does also have a 5m+ course that is sleep training. (Before that age they're too young for actual sleep training)
