Getting baby to breastfeed

Am

My baby was in the NICU and had a bottle for 4 days. Now she’s almost 2 weeks old and we are working on establishing breastfeeding. I’m pumping and she’s getting my milk exclusively, but I still desire to breastfeed, hopefully eventually exclusively. Any tips? The LC said she’s just “stubborn” but that doesn’t make me feel better. 😫

She needs practice. Breastfeeding is a skill she doesnt get any practice with until after she's born. Try to latch her whenever she shows hunger cues. Even if she doesnt fully feed from the breast, practice will help her or itll help figure out why she isnt.

Just keep putting to breast my twins were born at 34 wks armrest through a tube for the first wk of their lives and then a bottle because they could t latch we just kept trying and by 6 wks old they both caught on and we went on to nurse til 20 months

I also agree with practice! My twins were born at 35+2 and spent 2 weeks in NICU. It really wasn’t until they were almost 2 months old that they really got the hang of nursing!

Agree practice offer your breast before the bottle nd before she starts crying nd do lots of skin to skin

Try a nipple shield it helped my baby boy transition he was in nicu for 6 days and was forMika fed while in there due to my milk taking so long to come in.
