So my city organized a protest for police brutality and to support the Black Lives Matter movement, however the chanting changed to Brown Lives Matter within minutes . The reason for is my city has been suffering from police brutality and they target Hispanics a lot . My city is made up of 69.8% Latinos and 38.8% white there are not many black people who live there it’s below 1% . Within the past month 5 Hispanic people have been attacked 4 being just last week , it was 2 males and 2 females it was all caught on tape they got beat for no reason and were hospitalized. The protest turned into protesting our police force in our city and how they attack Latinos . Some people were also a little salty because of the recent attacks black people have committed against Hispanic people . There are also video’s of those incidents that happened last week so a lot felt they shouldn’t stand up for a race that mistreats them as well Besides those few people feeling that way most felt it was more accurate for them to protest police brutality within their Latino community as they have no black people in the city and their Hispanic neighbors are the ones being attacked here . My question is are they wrong for hijaking the protest or do they have a right and have a valid reason for doing it ?
