What would you do?

Every year for the 4th of July my side of the family rents a beach house for a week.  My only probably is all of my side of the family are considered essential workers and have been working the entire time.  My immediate family (my husband, me and the kids) have all been in quarantine since the end of February.  My mom is now asking me if we are going to go.  My husband doesn’t like the idea at all, and I’m conflicted.  On one hand I would love to have a vacation and actually visit with family but on the other hand I don’t want to risk the possibility of exposing one of the kids to the virus.  What would you do??!  Help!!  😫

I would definitely go! The way I look at it is just be aware and wash your hands. The truth is this isn’t going away any time soon. We can’t isolate ourselves forever. We can’t live in fear. Even when they do make a vaccine My family will not be the first ones to get it we refuse. So it could be awhile before a good vaccine is even out. Quarantine was mainly to flatten the curve and essential for healthcare workers and hospitals also patient to ventilator ratio. At one point we will probably get it but the question is how severe or how much of the virus will you be expose to and what strain. It’s all up in the air all you can do is be careful at this point. So go and enjoy your family.

Personally I wouldn’t go. I keep my baby home except for dr apts and walks around the neighborhood. I have a family member with an immunodeficiency, so we’re on the cautious side out of respect to them. No matter your choice, do what’s best for your family ❤️

I would go. I work in healthcare and we aren’t expecting this virus to go anywhere. Plus you are more likely to pick it up at a grocery store or something like that than anywhere else. As long as family members aren’t having any symptoms I would go have some fun!

I would go.. but that’s especially cause we’re already opening where I am.. But I haven’t been quarantined this whole time so it’s different if you’re worried.

I’d probably go 🤷🏼‍♀️. The kids and I have been quarantining but my husband is a physician at our local hospital so he’s been working this whole time. If anything, I’d be more nervous about my husband possibly getting my family sick. We’re planning to go to the beach with my side of the family in August and so far everyone is planning to go. It’s giving me something to look forward to after months of self-isolation. We’ve been intermittently seeing my parents, but we always stay outside and practice social distancing. My poor kids haven’t hugged their Nana and Pop Pop since early March 😩.

I would go. Honestly at this point you need a break. I’m in California and we’ve gone to the beach out to dinner. We just want our normal life back

I’d go. My hubby is a first responder and I refuse to isolate him from us due to possible exposure etc. He takes all necessary precautions with ppe so all we can do is hope for the best but realistically if he gets it so do we.
