Should I tell my fwb I like him?

Is it a good idea to tell my fwb I really like him. I just don’t want him to freak out thinking that I’m wanting him to be my boyfriend because honestly I don’t know whether I want that yet. I would just be happy to tell him that I genuinely like him, and that I’m still fine hanging out, hooking and everything that we’ve been doing for 6 months but I feel like I should tell him because keeping it bottled up is getting to me and I just want to be honest
