Nursery Curtains?

Do I need black out curtains for the nursery or do you recommend blinds with a sheer/light filtering curtain?

I'd recommend black out curtains. I bought these. Minimal light gets though (have cheap white (not blackout) blinds in the windows too) and I'm happy with them for the price. I just bought one and put one panel in each window. I got the gray. Per the reviews, if you get a lighter color, they won't block out light as well but then you could double up with blackout blinds too.

I got these ones, they’re room darkening not black out, I didn’t want my son learning to only sleep when it’s pitch dark. So these filter out ALOT of light where it’s still dark but it’s not black out dark.

Blackout curtains are nice, but not necessary. My son sleeps better and longer with blackout curtains, plus they help to insulate so we love them. It also signals that it’s bedtime. My sister has never used blackout curtains for her kids and they’re fine too.

No, you don't need it. It might come in handy, and for some it makes them used to that it has to be all dark to sleep.  
We have it because we live North of the polar circle and the sun is up 24/7 the from may till August.
