I'm starting the birth control pills thirteen days after the beginning of my last period. I asked my doctor "I have to wait a week for it to be effective, right?" And she said yes, do you need condoms? And gave me like thirty.. is that the correct amount of time to wait since I didn't start the first day of my period? I have been reading online some people wait a month but I'm impatient and don't want to use condoms for another month after I just paid for pills if it's unnecessary. I think a week is plenty of time but not trying to get pregnant.
