Christening, am I wrong?

I’m due my first baby in October and I’ve been thinking about getting him christened as all of my family are Christened and it’s just a tradition. 
However the father of my baby doesn’t want to because he doesn’t like religion! 
I would never do it behind his back like in secret but I would do it without his consent, am I wrong for wanting to do so?

My husbands family expected us to get our first christened. They didn't bother asking with our second. For me, it should be a choice...if my children want to then fine. I am not religious but its a decision they can make. I feel if you are doing it because its tradition in the family then its for the wrong reasons 🤷🏼‍♀️ and for school purposes it makes no difference 🤷🏼‍♀️ all schools follow the same teaching

This is a really difficult one, it's up to you whether you feel right or wrong and what is best for you, your partner and your child. And also how passionate you are about it. 
It has been a topic of discussion in our household as my husband is not religious, he feels that the schooling system in the UK is extremely outdated and almost offensive to those who are not religious. He says he would be a hypocrite to Christian our child when he has such strong views against religion (even though he was raised in a strong Irish Catholic family). I won't bore you with his thoughts, I am not a practising Christian myself, but I have been raised in a family that expect me to believe that there is a God or a higher archy than us, however, that does not mean I believe. I am agnostic, borderline atheist but that comes from having listened to my husband and his opinions of religion and seeing his perspectives and thinking 'your reasonings are extremely valid, I can not argue'. 
I would have liked to have our children christened, for the reason that my family would have expected our children to be christened and to ensure they got into a good school BUT like my husband, I do think the schooling system is outdated and he is so passionate about it when I am not so much, and why should we just to please others. You can only get into 'decent' schools if you are Christian/practising a religion or rich enough to pay for private (or lucky enough to be in the right area and pot luck). We have ultimately made the decision that if they can't get into the schools we like, we will home school. It goes into a bigger complex and there is more to it than that but ultimately, my husband is so much more passionate about not christening than I am about christening that I will not put him in a position that he feels uncomfortable with. If our child decides for themselves that they do believe, then that is their decision and we wholeheartedly support that. But we will not force them to be a part of a community without their approval first.
