Does birth control cause infertility ?

Hey guys! I really need your help. I want to get on birth control but I don’t know which to use or what drugs to get. I’m 20 btw, started having sex late last year. In my country, birth control pills are looked down upon so since I started having sex I’ve had numerous pregnancy scares. I met a doctor last week and she told me that birth control would give me problems when I grow up and I’m ready to give birth. She said it’ll cause infertility problems. Is that true? I mean every time I come here with a pregnant scare, you guys are always quick to tell me to get birth control. I really want to go ahead and get it but I don’t know what pills to get and I’m scared about the whole infertility issue
