Causes for longer period than average (for me) TMI WARNING

I’m 9 months postpartum, i got my period back around 4/5 months postpartum. It’s always been 4-5 days for me but this month it’s been 7 days. The first day was a medium flow, second day was heavier with small clots & from then on its been very light. I usually have to wear the thick maxi pads but I’ve gotten away with wearing the thinner ones this month. My mom bled with 2 out of 3 of her pregnancies but with the clots & all i wouldn’t think it’s likely that I’m pregnant. The clots were very small though, not big like usual. Could it be hormonal? At what point should i contact my doctor bc i know 7 days is still “normal”, just not for me.
