Overfeeding?

My daughter is 8 days old and is always hungry! She can drink 120ml/4oz every 2 hours, I’m worried that I’m over feeding her
At her 5 day check up, she went from 7.8 lbs to 7.10 lbs, the midwife said it was a good thing she had put on but I don’t want to be doing something wrong with how much she is eating

Babies gain weight quick in the beginning because....well they’re growing a mile a minute. Is your baby formula fed or breastfeeding? If it’s breastfeeding/breastmilk, could be clusterfeeding. Breastmilk also only contains what they need so it goes through their system faster. If it’s formula....well idk bc I breastfeed haha. But anyway feed your baby whenever they’re hungry and want food. You have a very long time before you should be concerned about their weight gain.

I’ve worried same with my son as he’s now a bit over 3 weeks and now wanting 5 oz at a time. Pediatrician said they will let you know when they’re full, they don’t quite overeat, and not to stress it

She’s 8 days old... there’s no reason to be worried about a newborns eating habits unless they have some sort of medical condition or they’re not getting enough. She’s a baby and she’s growing constantly. She needs the nutrients and she wouldn’t be eating it if she didnt want/need it.

I don’t think you can really over feed a baby, they only eat when they are hungry. My baby used to eat every 1.5 hours but it has spaced out since he’s gotten older (almost 5 weeks).

Idk how much my girl is getting, but she feeds constantly and is gaining a good amount of weight. From what I’ve read, there’s really no downside to them being a little bigger of a baby if that ends up happening. If she’s not spitting up all the time, you’re probably not over feeding. She’s just a hungry girl.
