Our baby boy has arrived!
Born on June 8th, 2020đ
I went in on the 7th at 6pm and they started to induce me with Cervidil at 7pm. Original plan was to has cervidil in for 12 hours then take it out and start pitocin 30 min later.
The cervidil fell out less than 8 hours later and the dr decided to go ahead with the pitocin 1 hour later at 4am On a low dose. They increased the dosage about 30 min later and i was already asking for an epidural bc the contractions were no joke... back to back. The epidural wasnât bad at all but it was hard sitting still during a contraction and curling over for the needle! They increased the Pitocin again at 5am and i was at a 6cm dilation, by 9 i was at 9cm and 10am the next morning i was at a 10 and ready to push!! I pushed for 2.5 hours đ . The first hour was with my husband and nurse and i wasnât really sure what i was doing it felt more like practice pushing but it was helping him come down where he needed to be. My OB came in to deliver him at the last 30 min. She was really good at keeping me calm and encouraging me from pushing all the way thru the 10 second pushes. I felt no âpainâ but the last 15 sets of pushed i felt a LOT of pressure. I could feel him body just sitting in my vagina!! I took me 2 sets of pushes to push his head out, and then another whole set of pushes to get his shoulders out. He never got âstuckâ but his head was sitting half way out for a min or so, so his little face was swollen when he came out but nothing bad. The last set of pushes was PAINFUL and i felt so much relief when he was finally out. I have a small minor 2nd degree tear that need some stitching but no hemmeriods! Honestly the recovery isnât what i was expecting. My bottom hurts and is realllly sore. My vagina doesnât really hurt or sting itâs more of an ache. Theyâve been giving me norco for pain.
Having him placed on my chest was so overwhelming. I canât explain having immediate overwhelming love that Iâve never felt for anyone before. Its nothing like the love you have for your husband or you family!
He was born at 12:41 pm weighing 8lb 4oz and 20.5 inches long.

Weâre now working on him eating a full OZ and making enough dirty diapers. He is the sweetest baby and he was definitely made for us. My husband did amazing the whole time. He stood there for 2.5 hours and held on to one my legs to help me push! He never needed to step away to feel nauseous or anything (which i wouidnt blame him for its also his first baby). I feel so lucky to have had such a simple birth and strong husband. I couldnât have any other support person with my due to the virus so my husband also hasnât had any relief but itâs also nice to just have this time together!
