So I’ve been with my guy for a little over 8 months and a couple weeks ago when we were hooking up, and making eye contact, and I just started tearing up. I was super embarrassed . Has this happened to anyone else? A little bit of background, I come from a pretty dysfunctional family and haven’t seen a lot of healthy relationships, but I can say 100% that my current relationship has been very healthy and positive.

I went through a phase where I would cry during and after sex pretty much every time with the man I’m now living with (we’ve been together 4 years). It was because I was so happy and in love I was just overwhelmed - the fact that someone could love me as much as he does was just something I’ve never had before. That being said, I was worried that it meant I had inner doubts. I suggest that you try to look inward and figure out how you feel - ask yourself if there is any reason for you to be unhappy, or if you feel there is anything wrong in your relationship. Crying might be a sign that you subconsciously feel as if what you’re doing is wrong, but it also could mean that you are extremely happy and that is how you express it. It depends on how you feel, but I know it’s not always easy to understand our emotions. No one else can tell you what it means (everything I read said it was bad even though it wasn’t). You just have to figure out how you really feel to understand it. Good luck, girl!
