my baby uses a pacifier but also will try to suck her thumb. she basically frantically shoved her whole fist in her mouth because she doesn’t understand to just stick her thumb out yet🤣 i let her do this and if it doesn’t seem to sooth her i’ll give her the pacifier !

My first son didnt use a pacifier and never sucked his thumb or hand
And my second doesnt take pacifiers either and only sucks his hand when hes hungry and wants to latch

My LO relentlessly sucks his fingers and fists lol he rejects the pacifier completely now. It’s good for self soothing.

Mine detests a pacifier, most times. He only barely takes it when its getting close to meal time. He sucks on his hands sometimes, and gets his thumb in there sometimes, but he doesn't really seem to suck for comfort.
