What happens after the first date? 🥵 Need advice!

Guys, I’m confused! I will gladly welcome advice from men and women. I could actually really use a man’s advice on this but any is welcome! I hadn’t ever really gone on a real date until today (we didn’t do anything else except hug after we said our goodbyes). We had lunch and it went well in my opinion. It wasn’t awkward or anything. I don’t know how he sees it though. He did make a statement/question that made like he wanted to go on another date. He was like “.. so maybe we can do this again another time?” right before we parted ways. I said yes to that. So now that it’s over. what do I do now? 😅 I texted him and thanked him for the lunch since he paid. I stupidly forgot to say it in person since I was kind of nervous...

But what now? I don’t want to come off as pushy but I still want to let him know that I am interested by still keeping in touch with him. Since I’ve never done this before, how do I go about this? I’m kind of anxious because I actually like him and it would suck if I somehow ruined my chances 😅 He was making me nervous because he was constantly making eye contact. I know that’s dumb but no guy has ever made that much eye contact with me while talking to me. He didn’t look away other than when he was eating it seemed.

Also, like at what point should I stop trying (asking just in case). I don’t really have good luck with dating but I would love for it to work out with him. What signs from him should I look for that would tell me that he’s no longer interested?

I feel so dumb for even worrying and stressing about this 😔 but I just needed to let it out.
