Transabdominal cerclage

Hi ladies,

We lost our baby when my water broke at 16w. It was 1 week after my transvaginal cerclage which was placed with great length. We were hoping this would be my last pregnancy for our 3rd and final child. I’ve had a rough amount of pregnancies and losses. This was pregnancy number 9 with 2 living children and most were second trimester losses.

My MFM OB during my labour of our loss said that if we want another baby that a TAC would have to be placed.

Who has had one? What makes it any different then a TVC? I know it has to end up in a csection but what happens if you miscarry after it’s placed either 1st/2nd trimester? Does that result in a csection as well?
