My sons dad is not on his birth certificate

But we live in the same household my name is on my moms lease a completely separate address. Well attempting to apply for tanf i’m unemployed an unemployment has yet to issue my mom since I started filing over a month ago & are funds are getting low my bf works minimum wage, pays all the bills an it’s not much left over. Would we still be able to apply? I’ve read the requirements an keep hearing all types of different stories an answers to my question.
