Swimming after c-section

Hey guys!so I just had a c-section on the 21st of may and I was wondering when I can go swimming again.im planning a trip to the beach in maybe a week and was wondering if I can swim. The doctor said 6 weeks but is that the safe number to give everyone or do I literally have to wait 6 weeks?
