Would it be smart to throw my son a birthday party with family in October?

So I’m planning ahead for my sons birthday party and I’ve been extremely paranoid due to the virus & then flu season. We do live in Southern California. I really want to do a party for him so he can have fun, I don’t want to take him out in a public area cause it’s to risky
But my question is, is it smart to even do a birthday party at our home with family? It would be over 10 people, some of mine and some of their dads

I think it's too early to make that call. I'm tentatively planning to have my son's second birthday party on November but I won't actually play anything until probably October when we have a better idea if what's going on

I’m in the same boat for October too. Right now I’m not going to plan a birthday party yet. I really don’t know what’s October is going to bring. I’m in Nee York and we’re just starting to open a little. So I would wait and see.

I would say plan a place/party where you can socially distance if need be but don't put money into it now as by Oct who knows what will be happeneing. We could be back to normal we could be on a second large outbreak. Prepare for it but maybe tell your son/family it may he canceled or altered depending on how things are going. Just so many unknowns right now:(

I’m doing a pool party for my sons 2nd birthday next month🤷🏼‍♀️ and I’ll be doing another one in October for my oldest. I figure those who feel comfortable will show, those who don’t, won’t. We are attending a party tomorrow and another on July 4th. I’m also in Arkansas, so our situation is a little different. I say do what you want, let your kids celebrate their birthday.
