Owlet smart sock 2

Question

Pros and cons? 
We just ordered it, its expensive. I've heard good and bad things about it. Id like to hear everyone's opinions on this smart sock and whether I should try it or return it.. is it worth it or not. Thank you

When our now 3 year old was born (induced adventure he was a week late) he stopped breathing 3 times while at the hospital, and got to stay in the NICU for a few days-we were terrified parents needless to say. My husband and I are both paramedics and got the owlet not only to keep an eye on his breathing trends, but for the priceless peace of mind that should he stop breathing again, we would be able to respond to that immediately. 
I know it’s expensive, but the peace of mind you receive really is priceless.

This is what I plan on getting instead of the owlet. It monitors breathing but is also a regular baby monitor. Love that it’s all in one and I don’t have to worry about putting anything extra on little one at night

I have been debating the same thing. 
My brother has the sock for his two month old. They like it, but arent sure it was really worth the money.  Its give their boy a blister on his foot. They also forget to put it on sometimes. I think my brothers wife likes it better than my brother. She watches the app for when their son is in deep sleep and then lays in down in the crib and he doesn't wake up right away. Which would be super helpful!
My twin boy is 6 days old and in the NICU for breathing. We asked  pedestrian in the NICU if we should consider getting the sock and he said he wouldn't recommend it. He said when my boy is released (hopefully tomorrow) he will be just as healthy as his twin sister and we shouldn't need to worry. 
I'm probably going to follow the recommendation of my pediatrician.  Maybe worth talking to yours and see what they recommend for you and your baby 🙂

We absolutely love ours. My son was in the NICU for lung and heart issues so when we got to bring him home that was the only thing that gave me any kind of peace of mind at night. I still don't rely on it 100% but it definitely helps. It comes with 3 different sized socks so make sure you use the right one. And I recommend switching feet so that your LO's foot doesn't get irritated (one night right, next night left). My son is 5 months old and we've had one red alert (oxygen dipped) and 2 yellow alerts (he managed to knock it loose because he's a wiggler lol) and occasionally my husband will take him on the other side of the house in the morning and forget to take the sock off and plug it back in 🤦‍♀️so then we get a blue alert lol (not with in Bluetooth range) but overall for the peace of mind it gives us we are so glad we spent the money on it and if baby #2 comes before he outgrows it I will definitely buy a second one because we're keeping him in it as long as possible.

We could not get the sock to stay on our little girl. It caused me more anxiety because right when I would fall asleep it would lose connection and wake me up even though she was fine. It’s really not worth the money.

We love ours! Our daughter was in the nicu for 39 days as a full term baby, and we got so used to the constant monitoring that coming home and having nothing was terrified. Now 9 months later, we only use it at night for the piece of mind that if anything were to happen, it would alert us! We are purchasing a second for our baby due in Feb:)

We love the owlet. My son was a 35 weeker and we’ve used it from the day he came home. We’ve never had trouble with it fitting until he started rolling over at night and then he’d kick it loose. We learned to put it on the other foot and never had another issue. 
Also worth noting that it gives 2 kinds of alerts, a yellow if it can’t get a signal, and red if baby’s reading are in the danger zone. We’ve never had red readings and while it isn’t fun waking up to any alert, id rather wake up a few times for nothing than miss one problem. 
It’s also extremely easy to travel with. You just need a power source and a WiFi signal.
