Private scan?

I have seen several women mention getting a private scan. This may be a dumb question but how did you find a provider? Are these at a medical facility or something else? I did an initial google search of my area and it I did find a few places that specialize in pregnancy ultrasounds that are not associated with a hospital but it seems like these are places looking to selling pic packages and 3D US. Is this what people refer to as private scan?

I went to a 3-D ultrasound that offers an early look through abdominal ultrasound. I got it so my husband could be there due to Covid policies at hospitals. It was only $40 out of pocket and I highly recommend!

We have a facility in town called StorkVision that specializes in medical imaging, which is just sonograms for people really. They do 2-D, 3-D and 4-D scans. We did ours for $50 which for us the e felt was worth it

Yes, it’s either an ultrasound tech or a registered nurse who administers the scan. I had one done yesterday. I loved it ❤️

Yes this is what I think of when people refer to a private scan. You pay out of pocket and it’s a completely different facility that is not medically affiliated at all

I think a lot of the people saying this are based (like myself) in the UK. We have the NHS which is our free healthcare and we get a scan at 12 weeks but some women opt to have a 'private' scan earlier at a clinic x
