Do I take my son to the ER?

I’m pretty sure I have COVID-19. My symptoms are loss of taste, smell, sore throat and stuffy nose. My 3 week old baby woke up with a 99.5 fever last night and I’m so worried. My parter isn’t here with me, because he said, “he knew he had it,” so he quarantined himself from us..... I’m here with my 3 week old & toddler. What do I do?? 😫😭

Here you have to call the nearest urgent care and tell them your symptoms, and then if they find it likely that you have it they tell you when and where to come for a test. Most places have a drive-in test set up.

You don’t go to A&E if you have symptoms unless you’re struggling to breathe. In the UK I think you’re supposed to ring the non-emergency line or use their website to ascertain whether or not you’re symptoms line up with COVID19 infection. When you do that they may send a test kit to your door or you may be able to order one for free online. This is the UK though and even that may be wrong because they’ve changed the guidance that many times nobody really knows what to do.
You also need to make sure you completely isolate. No shopping for food, no having people round. You and your child need to be away from anyone else for at least 7 days but I’d be tempted to do 14 to be safe. If you are positive for an infection and you take him to the ER with just the symptoms you described, you’re putting other lives at risk.
