Migraines

Mrs N • Married 💍👩🏻‍🍼🤱🏻

I’ve had migraines my whole adult life, they are considered menstrual but I get them pretty much twice a month. I’ve talked to my neurologist and we agree that once I am pregnant, the medication should not be taken as there are not enough studies to confirm it is safe. (It’s in the Triptan family) They say Tylenol is safe but anyone who gets migraines chronically knows that won’t do anything. I am working on weaning off caffeine now, so I can use that to help but I am dreading the 1st trimester (even though desperately hoping to get pregnant).

Anyone else dealt with migraines during pregnancy or nervous about them in future pregnancy? Any recommendations?

On the plus side, my doctor said they often only affect the 1st trimester and then stop 🤞🏻🤞🏻.
