So I'm working on a fantasy novel and I'm trying to come up with a derogatory name for people with magic.

In my world magic comes with physical differences, and sometimes disabilities. The more powerful the magic, the worse the disability. So in this society, they are seen as demonic, forsaken by God or less than human. They are regularly abandoned as children and many end up being used like tools or treated as pets (if they are lucky). The church only recently stopped trying to "cleanse" them. So a derogatory name for them is in order.

So would calling them "Marred", "Mars", or something like that work? Does it sound silly?

(As in to mar- to scar, stain or ruin. Could also be short for "marked" as in "marked by evil")
