Crib Suggestions?

Question

What is reasonable to spend on a crib? And where do you recommend shopping for a crib and purchasing one? Does it pay to buy one that transitions to different stages of beds with the baby as they grow?

This is the crib we have for our daughter, hers was once my cousins so we didn’t pay for it. But for baby #2 coming in february, we will be getting this matching one! for having the ability to convert to a full/queen bed in the future, I feel like it’s well worth the price. (+a $60 Sealy XT firm mattress and $20 worth of sheets)!

I skipped the crib with both kids. But I’d never pay more then like $200 maybe. The convertible cribs don’t come with the parts to convert them later. The ones I looked at- had to be bought separately. They cost like $60-100 for the conversion.

This is the crib we got. Not sure if we’ll buy the conversion kit to toddler bed yet. May just upgrade her to a twin bed and save some money

Totally depends on your situation and budget! I know someone that used a play pen for all three of her babies then they went into big bed and that was fine for them. We got a convertible crib but only bought the rails for turning it into a full size bed because each set of rails are an extra 60-120 ish. I love our crib it’s very sturdy and has basically no blemishes, but if we didn’t have the funds at the time I’m sure a cheaper crib would’ve been completely fine. We’ll be using this crib again for baby #2 then eventually using it as the full size bed
