My son was born at 38 weeks at a beautiful birthing center. The plan is to do the same with my daughter. However, you have to be full term (37 weeks) for that otherwise they send you to a local hospital. It’s still a great facility just not the home birth feel we are looking for (plus we get to go home 4-12 hours postpartum if we deliver at the birth center rather than 1-2 days after).

But this little girl has her own wonderful timeline she’s looking at. I started having some early labor symptoms on Sunday and I got checked out on Monday when the symptoms didn’t let up. Lo and behold I was 3cm already. They checked me again later in the day since she was engaged and nothing had changed. The midwife said she’d be surprised if I could make it the week. So now I’m on bed rest seeing if we can put off active labor until this upcoming Sunday when I’ll be 37 weeks.

Each day I have a little spotting, I feel constantly crampy, she feels a bit lower, but still no contractions that I can time. So we keep waiting. Three more days!! Fingers crossed we can make it! It’ll be a beautiful birth regardless but wow, the suspense is killing me 😂.
