My 11 year old son just told me he’s gay. 😔

I’d say okay cool! I love you no matter what and support you no matter what!

Support him. It may be upsetting to you but it was probably really nerve racking for him. Tell him he will always be loved, be supportive the best you can, and Tell him you’re proud of him. Be happy he trusted and was very comfortable telling you something like this that some consider a touchy subject.

be supportive, accepting, and let him know you’re there for him if he needs you. do not shame him or make him feel bad in any way. he will run the opposite way from you and won’t open back up until way down the road. maybe have a conversation with him and ask him how he came to this conclusion. since he’s 11 he probably has had no experience with either gender, so keep that in mind too- it could just be a phase, but don’t treat it like one.
