Baby name? Nickname suggestions?

First name will be John as my husband is the 13th first born son named John but they all have different middle names. (I know, I know) We want to do middle name after my dad or my grandfather. My dad is Bryan Albert. His dad was William but there's disagreements about his legal middle name so we aren't even considering that really. He passed on when my dad was in his 20s so I never met him but he was a great guy and meant a lot to my family.

We're open to similar names (ex-Bryce or Ryan instead of Bryan) but my husband's leaning more towards a name that's 2 or more syllables.

Lastly, any suggestions on nicknames? My husband and his dad are both John (obviously), my step-grandfather is John (also coincidently middle name of Albert), and my brother is Jonathan. So calling the kiddo John isn't going to be an option for family get togethers. Johnny is also a no go with that being my husband's dad's nickname. We've considered Jay, a double letter (ex-JB), or are open to other suggestions in general.

Basically we've been thinking about this but are open at this point to suggestions as we see lots of options and are sure there's more we haven't thought of.
