Friends with benefits, good or bad?

I'm thinking about being friends with benefits with a guy. Though I'm not sure about it.

Whether there are strings attached or not, sex has the potential to change the dynamics of a relationship. This kind of relationship can work for some people and for others it may not be a good idea. That's up to you to decide. If you both are able to keep feelings out of the relationship then FWB can work, but if either of you see yourself having feelings for each other in the long run it could get messy and your friendship could be damaged. Set boundaries and be safe if you choose to do this.

I am Aromantic so a FWB is an ideal 'relationship' for me but I always have a set of rules. I normally only go for a guy if I've known him for a little while so I'm comfortable, obviously, and I know his personality. If i know he falls for girls easily then I won't even consider being FWB. No matter how much he says "I won't catch feelings". I personally do not feel emotional connections from sexual activities so I do not have the problem of getting feelings towards the partner, which is something you need to consider as well. I always make sure to lay down what I'm willing to do and not do sexually & all the other good stuff (like any normal relationship basically). I think a FWB is good, for me at least. Sometimes you just want to have fun and there is no shame in that as long as you're carrying on safely.

You have to know yourself really well. Are you able to have sex with the same person multiple times without getting feelings or emotional attachments? For me I can't so I would never have been a good person for the friends with benefits thing. But one of my good friends can and I say good for her. Do what makes you happy, always be safe and enjoy!
