How does plan B works?

Question

I recently had unprotected sex and I did not know he released his sperm inside me. I was not ovulating when it happened. Plus my time of the month comes on in two days. So how does this all works ?

Answer

Plan B stops or prevents ovulation so there’s no egg to be fertilized. It also thickens the lining of your uterus to prevent a fertilized egg from implanting.
Plan B also only works up to 3 days after sex.
If you’re for sure past ovulation and due for your period in 2 days, there’s no point in taking Plan B.
If you don’t want to get pregnant, stop having unprotected sex. 
Get on birth control and start using condoms.
