Safe to announce?

I’m 14 weeks... originally we planned to announce after our first ultrasound but I won’t have one until 19 weeks. I want to announce, but am just dissapointed I have to wait that long until I have an ultrasound although I know it’s normal.

Why do you feel like you have to wait until your next ultrasound to announce? I announced at 8 weeks. If something’s going to happen there’s no way to stop it. I ld rather people know what I’m going through then to have to explain later on if that was the case.

How come you don’t get an ultrasound until 19 weeks if you don’t mind me asking? That seems rather late! Normally you should get one around 8-14 weeks to accurately date your pregnancy!

Whenever you feel comfortable announcing is when you should announce. You could always book a private ultrasound before that one at 19 weeks! I just had one last week since due to Covid my husband hasn’t been able to be at any of mine and it was so wonderful to have him there and was such a great experience for the both of us.

I announced 5 weeks with my first (no ultrasound) and 12/14 weeks with my current pregnancy (with ultrasounds). It’s really up to you and when you’re feeling it.
