Weaning off sound machine?

Has anyone weaned their babies off of the sound machine?  How did it go?  Our daughter is a great sleeper but she uses her sound machine during naps and at night.  I don’t want her to depend on it forever.

Just don't use it if you don't want to.   Maybe decrease the volume every couple days and then call it quits.  Sound machines are typically good for infants because they drown out other noises that happen in a house.  You may find by not using one that baby will wake to sounds that may not have bothered them before.   At our cabin we dont use one for our littles and he sleeps just fine, but like I said, will wake up more easily if he hears the dogs or a door shut, or our 3 yr old stomping around.   The only harm a sound machine can be to your child is if its too loud and exceeds the safe level of decibels.

We have a AC unit in our bedroom to drown out outside noise too. Nothing wrong with continuing to use it.

I plan to just turn it down bit by bit until he just doesn’t use it anymore. I have no interest in forcing his future roommate to have to listen to a fan, sound machine, and TV to sleep like mine did to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

My 3 1/2 year old still uses his. We have construction in our neighborhood and live close to train tracks.  I have no plans to stop. I'm an adult and I still use white noise haha.
He does do naps at daycare just fine without it so I doubt it's a dependency.

My 7.5 year old still uses hers. But she makes the sound so faint that only she can hear it.

Girl keep that sound machine going. You can use it up to 4years old. If it works, let it.

We have 4 dogs and another baby due in Oct... sound machine is going to be sticking around for awhile at our house lol
